Montana communities seek to recover costs from opioids, which they call a public nuisance in lawsuit

Cascade County and the city of Great Falls are among four counties and two cities in Montana taking on opioid manufacturers, distributors and pharmacies as part of a nationwide lawsuit in which the local governments compare the opioid crisis to a costly “public nuisance” that needs to be “abated.”

On behalf of the state of Montana, Attorney General Tim Fox filed a consumer protection lawsuit against Purdue Pharma LLC in December 2017 for deceptive marketing practices involving prescription opioids including OxyContin.  Click here to read more.
